Hey!
‘What are you most passionate about?’
Well, if you have been on social media for a few years- I think you have been asked this question at least a handful of times already.
And the answer to it can be different for each one of you.
For me it’s more than one thing.
For me it’s storytelling, building teams and Running.
Running - the reason why I am starting this new newsletter/blog called
Miles with Mandy.
And no, I don’t have an athletic body.
But my trainer once said-
”An athlete is an attitude. You are one if you think like that.”
He went on to add- “And an athlete never retires.”
Now, about running. It all started for me in covid years.
I went for walks alone and one day just thought of running. Ran 5k and recorded it on NIKE Run App.
And voila- all my feed my full of running related content. At that point I noticed, running 10k gives you a medal and a tee.
“Niiiiccceeee.”- I thought.
So I started running in 2020. Four years since then running has become a core part of my identity.
That’s how my friends and people around me know me.
To put it in numbers- I ran 300k in 2024 and have a target of 500k for 2025.
Fingers crossed.
Also till date- I have run one 35k and about 7 half-marathons and multiple 10k runs.
Now I am preparing for a full marathon- a 42k run.
If I am able to do it, my estimate is that by my current levels I will be able to run a 42k in about 4 hours and 45 mins.
4 hours and 45 mins of solitary.
But I have come to realise that it can’t be done alone. At least I can’t.
So I decided to write about it as well. Document the journey and all that I feel along the way.
The motivation, the pain, the pleasure, the runner’s high and all the thoughts.
Why- To find what pushes me and how my body reacts so that if anyone of you wants to run or enhance endurance these letters can help.
Because in the end-
Run or no run we all are prepping for the marathon called Life.
Best,
Mandy
